I was reminded of the inspiration to open this wellness center. Life's taken a few winding turns, as we all experience, and teaching yoga this past Saturday it occurred to me that we all must find our place of "well-being". For you, this may come in the form of convening with nature, movement, laughter, friendships, or quiet meditative moments. Slowing down and tuning into your intention each day can offer a reminder of where well-being lives within you. Our center is growing to support you in enriching wellness. If you' are interested in an upcoming event or practice yoga we'd love to be a part of your journey. In the spirit of all things well, Amy Yoga and Friendship
Last weekend I traveled to Michigan to celebrate life with six dear Catholic High School girlfriends. Our close bond spans multiple decades, shared values and mutual respect for one other. We postponed a prior trip due to Covid, so seeing their faces was a special joy in itself. We connected over food, drink, lake time singing, dancing, laughter, and YOGA. Without prompting, Saturday morning my ole' buddies, most of whom rarely practice yoga, laid out their colorful mats next to the water. I smiled to myself as I linked up my friend’s fancy jam box-like stereo which had been playing mostly 70s and 80s tunes the evening prior. As the music slowed, sunlight sparkled on the water, and the breeze arrived in perfect timing. We listened to the waves cresting in and we began to breathe and move. It was then that I witnessed my best friends drop into a place of peace. Magical. In moments like this, the benefits of a yoga practice emerge more than a physical feat but more of a spiritual experience. We kept it light sharing a few personal jokes which on later reflection I realize is crucial for vitality. I was taken by their ability to tend to themselves and also by how a little yoga goes a long way. To friendship, practice, and the gift of yoga. Cheers to connecting with others! Amy Susan Castle, NP will lead us in a powerful workshop surrounding brain health as we age. This is one you won't want to miss.

Restorative yoga has a deep healing influence on the body and mind. It gives you space to slow down and be in the moment with your own breath in a space of loving presence. When the physical body rests in long-held supportive postures, the natural healing process resumes; restoring the body and mind back to a place of homeostasis.
