Our minds and bodies sync effortlessly when experiencing connection with self and others. When the balances become disturbed or “off” finding peace becomes quite frankly pretty painful. What triggers this pain? Many factors may ignite emotional pain such as stress, fatigue, unresolved grief or possibly underlying shame.
Work in therapy helps to identify the areas of emotional pain, then takes the next step to see how this pain continues to serve them or show up today. Most importantly, therapy supports individuals and couples in learning how to see patterns which ignite pain so they can make different choices about the way they speak to themselves and each other begin to live more fulfilling, joy filled lives.
And pain, the emotional pain, can also affect the physical body ie. The Mind/Body connection. Both psychotherapy and yoga require practicing awareness and reflection. If you are seeking guidance in either therapy or yoga or both keep reading.
Oh and yoga does not require flexibility of the body, just the openness of mind.
